Put Play on your phone
It takes about twenty seconds, and there is nothing to download
Play is a website that behaves like an app once you add it to your home screen: its own icon, no address bar, and it opens where you left off.
iPhone and iPad
Safari only — this is Apple’s rule, not ours.
- 1. Open this page in Safari
- If you arrived from WhatsApp you are in its own browser and the option will not be there. Tap the compass icon at the bottom right, or copy the link into Safari.
- 2. Tap Share
- The square with an arrow coming out of it, at the bottom of the screen.
- 3. Choose “Add to Home Screen”
- Scroll down the list of options. Then tap Add, at the top right.
Android
Chrome, and most other browsers.
- 1. Tap the three dots
- Top right of the browser.
- 2. Choose “Install app”
- Some phones call it “Add to Home screen”. Either is the same thing.
- 3. Confirm
- Chrome may also offer this by itself, as a bar along the bottom.
Nothing is installed on your phone beyond a shortcut and a cached page, and removing it is the same as deleting any app. Back to Play.
